Bought a gift card for my parents. When they went to redeem the gift card Hello Fresh would NOT allow them to complete their order without entering addtionally payment information. Poor system. I can't use gift card without giving them more card information? Ridiculous. I requested a refund immediately.
Their customer service team is rude and difficult to work with. I had to cancel an order 4 days prior to arrival due to an emergency and no one being at my residence to receive or use the products. Customer service hung up on me twice before finally putting me through to a supervisor who swore there was nothing that he could do. After 15 minutes of arguing, he magically found a way to cancel my order and give me a refund, after telling me there was no way for him to do this over and over again!
You will get calls at least once a week, around 10am for me (work time). I pick up calls I don't recognize because sometimes they are pertinent calls. It's just very pushy and annoying - it makes me suspicious they're so aggressive about it. Their boxes are fine, nothing special and comparable to all the other meal delivery services. I tried two boxes before I cancelled because I found their website glitchy and difficult to navigate (esp. When skipping certain weeks). I also could not view the meals easily or view meals that weren't in my box. It was just a very clunky website. If you've cancelled and are being harassed by them, put a fake phone # on your profile!
I am furious. I used a coupon for a free box, then today I got an email they are sending me another one. I guess there was some 'fine print' that I missed on checkout, so they automatically sent another box, for which I was charged. We didn't even like it! What a lousy way for them to do business.
If then driver doesn't feel like ringing the bell he will simply leave your food in the sun to deteriorate - even when you're home. Then there the soppy vegetables, poor menu and out of date meat. On top of this after we cancelled they are still trying to charge us - even when we've had no food delivered! I'd say just plan your own meals ahead and budget, order online and you'll do just as well if not better.
While the quality of the food is great, don't expect the same from the customer service. I was given a trial offer of this site from a coworker, and when I went to cancel it as it's a recurring payment, the earliest cancellation date was the week after my trial. As my trial offer didn't give an end date, I thought nothing of it until I saw I'd been charged for that week. I contacted their customer service about it asking for a refund since I'd already cancelled my membership with them, but they said since I'd chosen the week after my trial (the earliest available time I could choose mind you), that they weren't able to give me a refund. So I replied to them again through the same email thread, just to get the exact same email back! Again, the quality of the food was good, but if you have any issues at all with your order or cancellations or anything that requires an interaction with their customer service, forget about it. Incredibly unhelpful, and makes me cringe that I have to even call what they did "customer service."
This company allows you to cancel your membership online and your account reflects cancelled. Except, they forget to mention to truly cancel, you must respond to a follow up email. I never received this email and I never called because I didn't know I needed to respond to such an email to cancel. My account appeared to be cancelled online so I just left it. If there are additional steps to cancel, this should be clearly stated online so people are not deceived into paying for additional weeks.
I got an email from Hello Fresh on Black Friday and I clicked the link to see what the deal was. Well if you click the link they reactivate your account and automatically send you meals! So I had to pay $59 for meals I did not want nor picked out and a few veggies were molded!
Their website is convenient and very good optimized. Meals looks exactly like on photos. I liked almost everything they brought. Also, they are very innovative and diversify their menu with delicious new meals regularly. I recommend
Do not try this! A co-worker gives me this free promo card and said that I needed to try it. 1. When I put the code in there was a charge of $79.50 but it dropped down to $0.00 once I put all my info and credit card number in there (should have known better but trusted my co-worker) 2. The meal comes... and I was not impressed! 3. Next thing I know I get another box of food that was awful and got charged $79.50. I could have gotten the same thing at an Applebees for $10-12. When I called to complain the customer service rep was very rude and basically hung up on me. TOTAL SCAM! I hope they shut down!
Hello Customer Service?
Nothing but troubles here. Tried Hello Fresh for the first time last week and one box was missing. Called in and they applied a partial credit. Box scheduled today never makes it to our front door. Ended up sitting all day in the Texas sun in front of someone else's porch. So what does a call to the customer service team yield? A 15 minute wait to talk to a supervisor and having to call back only to be told that they can only send a new box later in the week. Geez- seriously. 3 strikes and your out. Have not had a bad experience like this in a long time. The right thing to do is to cancel the order, refund the funds and try to win my trust back. Disputing the charges now and won't be spending my money there any longer.
I really liked this service when we first started to use it but things have gone downhill. The company outsourced to do the deliveries have come several times very late on the delivery day resulting in less than cool food. I have had issues with cheese and veggies. I also had a delivery issue and Customer Service could have given 0 F's that my box was not delivered. I have cancelled the service and will be giving Blue Apron a try. I will be on the lookout for the cancellation and the refund.
This company is the WORST! I had a coupon for a discounted week so I used it and then suspended the account immediately. The meals were OK. Four weeks later the account reactivated itself (according to the call center that was in the agreement but how about an email heads up). The red bell pepper in one of the meals was moldy and that meal was a waste. The next week nothing came at all so I thought it was a fluke but I found out it was still billed to me. They said they would discount the meals I never received and that they knew I never received as a "courtesy". Then, even though the meals were still in their warehouse, they refused to refund a pending delivery. I think they would have charged me for the week I did not receive if I wouldn't have called even though they know FedEx didn't pick up that week. This is a SCAM and not worth it at all. The meals aren't nearly as good as Blue Apron. Phone customer service is TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY!
If you redeem a free box offered by someone they will put you on a subscription plan and will charge you without warning or email: they automatically put you on subscription when you sign up. Then they tell you to get lost when you complain. I might have decided to use them when I have more regular work shedule but will definitely not, ever.
I ordered one box to try it out. That experience was great but I chose to discontinue/ in their words, pause. AND INWAS SHOCKED TO BE CHARGED FOR ANOTHER BOX ARRIVING THIS WED. Calling the customer service, the only thing they could tell you is that there is nothing we can do, you have already been charged. The entire call filled with nonchalancy and people chatting loudly in the background. NOTE THAT ONCE YOU PAUSE, YOU CANNOT PAUSE INDEFINITELY, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESUME WITHOUT WARNING YOU AT AND AND CHARGE YOU ACCORDINGLY. No receipt was even sent to my email. THE ONLY WAY IS TO CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT. Now that the box is areiving on Wed and my fridge probably does not have any space for any of these food at all. Great disappointment to their service and subscription policy.
I tried 3 different boxes. The recipes are very creative, easy to understand and to follow, the products are very fresh and - most importantly - the food is really delicious! When I had an enquiry and called their customer service, they also made a great impression: they responded promptly, they were understanding, kind and really made me feel like a valued customer. Definitely recommend it!
Disappointed would be an understatement, have waited 16 days for a return call or email in relation to being double charged. Customer service is sadly lacking, food items missing every week and vegetables rotten and mouldy. Buyer beware
First started with Hello Fresh all was good and enjoyed the service and price and quality. Then I assume a change was made with their operations people. First, packaging changed and our 4 dinners were squished into a box crushing them inside. Got a credit for that one. Finally changed back to larger box. Then changed ICE vendors apparently and had situations where box did not stay cold, that was fixed and also credited. Then delivery issues. Missed our delivery, got credit for that, came next day. 3 out the last 7 weeks box delivered to wrong address. I drive around neighborhood to get my package. Got credit for that. Lots of credits, don't think I am alone. So while they always make good with credits, the hassles are annoying. Told them I will not drive around looking for my box anymore. They don't use UPS so whoever their service is has trouble reading numbers I guess. Anyway, it is a shame, because it started out so well. If issues continue I will have to move over to another service.
I received my first box two days ago. Since my friend/co-worker was really impressed with this service I thought I would give it a try since she offered me a coupon for a free box. First, the box was very heavy due to the large ice packs inside. These of course had melted a bit and the bottom of the box was a bit soggy. The box was neatly packed but the smaller boxes inside were wet on the bottom due to the ice packs.
The first meal I chose to make was the Jerk Chicken with Peaches. The peach was rotten. I had to use my own fresh peach. The recipe was easy to follow and everything turned out ok. It was plenty of food for my husband and me.
The next day I wanted to make the steak with chipotle sauce. I opened the box with the "fresh" ingredients and the ear of corn was spoiled. The onion was growing sprouts, and the can of chipotle peppers appeared to be about 10 years old! It was dented, dirty, label torn, and expiration date/code was worn off. I certainly would not have purchased this in a grocery store.
So, I put the meat in the freezer and discarded all other ingredients. Needless to say I have cancelled my subscription.
It's very easy to begin this service, but they make it hard to cancel. The web site apparently didn't accept my cancellation, all though every indication was that the cancellation was received. So a box is
Being mailed to me that I didn't want and can't use and I'm being billed. The customer service
Rep said she couldn't do much and the manager was rude and extremely unhelpful. Very poor customer service and policies. Web site is also
Poor in every way except if you
Want to start the service.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
