Horrible! BEWARE! I went to purchase a phone on Swappa from a seller named pdx cellular. They took my money from my card then said they don't accept my payment method. I reported the issue to swappa. They gave me a hard time saying I couldn't show them my emails from card but i have to show them proof by logging in my account. They said the payment is pending and it'll come back on my card in a few days. Its been a week and they still haven't released my money. Swappa or the seller doesn't list phone numbers to contact either on of them. You can only reach Swappa threw email. I can prove all of this threw the emails back in forth between me and Swappa. DONT USE THIS SITE!
Great products, large choice, good service.
I don't see why you require a certain number of characters. You are fortunate that I put in any comments at all. Get REAL.
This is the second time I've used Swappa to buy an electronic device and I've been extremely satisfied with this service. I've had no issues and love how easy it is to get a basically new product for much less than I would pay to get it new from Apple. Others' experience could vary depending on the seller I'm sure but Swappa seems to do a good job of vetting who is selling stuff on their site.
Have been selling on Swappa for over a decade, and it's gone so far downhill I don't think I'll continue to sell through this website anymore.
Recently sold a phone that had hiccups with tracking numbers (that were well out of my hands and fixed fairly quickly) to an individual that let the phone sit in the mail for 5 days and then decided to accuse me of committing fraud multiple times because someone in his family picked up the phone and he didn't even realize it.
I got a PayPal case started against me for no reason (which froze my account) and was berated by the buyer and continuously accused of never shipping the phone or somehow manipulating USPS shipping numbers.
What's hilarious is that the numbers I provided the buyer clearly showed the delivery date/etc., so there was no reason for any of this to happen.
I reach out to Swappa staff during the process and get a copy-pasted paragraph, and that's it. No actual help or intermediation whatsoever. I reached out again, and GOT THE SAME EXACT COPY PASTED PARAGRAPH from the first time.
Hours later, the buyer comes clean and drops the PayPal case and admits he had actually received the phone. I ask Swappa staff for some type of punitive action for the buyer since the buyer has made defamatory statements and caused issues with my PayPal account, and Swappa staff simply says:
"It appears that the case with PayPal was resolved and that the buyer did receive the device. This was a clear issue on the buyers part, however we cannot penalize the buyer for their mistake on this part. We will notate their account regarding the sale and watch for any future behavior."
So it would seem that there are near zero repercussions for buyers who act like this?
Combine this nightmare of an experience with Swappa's MASSIVELY increased fees over the years, and you have a marketplace that I can barely consider viable anymore.
Swappa, you truly used to be great, now you've absolutely fallen by the wayside.
P.S., if your staff could actually respond to my email asking why you openly allow libel from buyers on your site, that would be great. Still haven't heard back! Truly seems like you can't be bothered to do anything to support your sellers.
My product came within 2-3 days. Tracking information was provided and the condition was exactly as described. Will be having service with them again in the future:
I purchased a phone that turned out to have a lock on it due to the last owner not paying a bill. In SWAPPAS defense, the IME was showing clear in their review, but the lock was due to non-payment on an account. We spent hours trying to find a work-around including two trips to our carrier, two phone calls to our carrier and a phone call to Apple. None of these attempts were able to unlock the phone. The seller the whole time with excuse after excuse and not wanting to credit me back for the phone and/or the shipping. I reached out to Swappa numerous times and they just refer me back to the seller and pushing it off on their partner PayPal. So essentially "IF" you have a problem, do not count on any real assistance in Swappa making the situation right. They do not have a policy for that. They did reiterate several times "This is not the norm on Swappa", but that doesn't really help me at all. I shipped the phone back and I am approaching a week without a refund and two weeks without a device for my freshman college student who leaves tomorrow. Probably fine if you buy from a reputable seller on Swappa, but be aware they have no accountability or true customer support. Looks like now I have to put a claim in with PayPal.
Swappa delivered exactly what they said they would. The site was easy to use and I love the fact that you can filter and ask for a price drop from the sellers
I bought a iPhone 11 Pro from celltrade on Swappa. Long story short I received a semi- functioning phone, that was advertised as in mint condition. I immediately reported the problem to Swappa and the seller Celltrade. They requested I send phone back,Unfortunately being a busy professional I had to keep the phone or I could not function at work. A better solution would have been for the seller to send me a replacement phone first and then I could have sent them the flawed phone back. But no they don't care about the buyer. Now I'm stuck with a phone that continuously goes to black screen of death. Swappa makes money of people like me so they will side with the seller. Please, whatever you do, avoid both Swappa and Celltrade. You will get ripped off.
Zero communication from the 3rd party seller for 72 hours, where finally a shipping label was created but still never shipped. Rather than the seller finally communicating a shipping date, they retaliated against a Paypal claim and had my account banned. Facebook/eBay/Reddit/Back Market/Gazelle are all better options. Save yourself the headache as Swappa's support seems to be run by teenagers.
Bought a few phones over time this time purchases a "mint" condition Samsung that when I went to T Mobile to activate although the IEM check showed unlocked when the sun card was inserted it showed locked and was unable to activate.Thankfully the T Mobile staff were kind enough to exchange it for a new phone with à small additional fee since it was a TMobile phone
I recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 6 tablet from Swappa, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. First and foremost, the selection of devices on the platform was impressive, and I found exactly what I was looking for. The transaction process was smooth and secure, providing me with peace of mind.
The tablet itself, the Microsoft Surface Pro 6, has exceeded my expectations. The performance is top-notch, allowing me to seamlessly handle my daily tasks, from browsing the web to working on creative projects. The sleek design and high-quality construction of the device are truly remarkable.
One of the standout aspects of my experience was the excellent condition of the tablet. The seller on Swappa provided accurate and detailed information about the device's condition, and it arrived in pristine condition, just as described. It felt like I was unboxing a brand-new device.
Furthermore, the shipping was prompt and the packaging was secure, ensuring the tablet arrived safely at my doorstep. The seller's communication was also commendable, promptly answering any questions I had throughout the process.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Swappa for purchasing electronics, and my experience with buying the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 tablet from their marketplace was exceptional. The platform's reliability, combined with the remarkable quality and performance of the Surface Pro 6, has made this purchase a truly satisfying one.
Mostly good experience from Swappa until now. Purchased a phone by mistake and immediately asked the seller to cancel. Seller agrees to cancel and refund the purchase. An hour later there is a conversation between seller and swappa about the refund. Seller notes that he will refund minus a restocking fee ($80 on a 430 phone). Seller relists phone and sells immediately. I point out to Swappa that the seller did not ship the phone and had initially agreed to cancel and issue refund. And, had I known he was going to charge the "restocking fee", I would have told seller to just ship the phone. I even sent an email to a manager at Swappa. No Help. Payal made the seller refund the amount immediately. This is predatory behavior by the seller and the Swappa doesn't seem to care. Thankfully, paypal has things set in place to protect the buyer from this behavior.
Swappa Marketplace is a great marketplace for selling, buying and trading tech gadgets. It has a very large community of people looking for unique technology, who are willing to pay good money for it.
It is a reputable online marketplace for buying and selling gently used electronics. Buyers can trust their platform because they rigorously inspect all devices. Excellent and responsive customer support makes the experience smooth and enjoyable. Swappa is great for used electronics.
This is a scam website DONT buy anything from Swappa. I made a payment for an iPhone 11 immediately after I did so my account was deactivated I didn't receive the tracking number, or information on the item. The seller (Recell.io) was unresponsive, I reached out to *******@swappa.com email and they said the account was deactivated due to violation of the terms and conditions. They then said I should receive a refund from the seller, I still haven't received this refund. Learn from me, they deactivated the reviews on Google so you don't see their actual motives. This site has been reported multiple times. Don't fall for this.
I've bought at least 3 devices from this website so far and every device has been functional and working I plan to buy more devices from this website in the future
I have been using Swappa for a while now, and love it! I think it's a great place to buy and sell phones. The only thing I don't like is the shipping fees.
Once I learned how their payment system works and how your payout shows up on Paypal I was pleased with the service. Better price for me than selling it ty o an online store for them to make the profit.
Since 2016, I have been utilising Swappa. I adore how simple it is to use and how soon questions are answered!
I've been using Swappa for a few months now and I'm very happy with it. The app is easy to use, the service is great and they always respond quickly to any issues or questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an online marketplace!

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - help@swappa.com Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
