The company enjoys a mixed reputation among customers, with positive sentiments highlighting the quality and variety of products available at competitive prices. However, numerous reviews indicate significant dissatisfaction with customer service, particularly regarding online order fulfillment, long shipping times, and complications during returns. Many customers expressed frustration over unhelpful staff interactions and poor handling of defective items, which detracted from their overall shopping experience. This feedback suggests a need for improved training for customer service representatives and more efficient processes for managing online orders and returns to enhance customer satisfaction.

All I can say is stay away from getting a credit card from these people! I paid my bill early. A little too early and the cycle caused me to have all kinds of late fees because it didn't recognize that I paid my bill early. Called customer service thought it gotten taken care of and it did not call back and spoke to the most rudest people on the phone! Very disappointed and TJ Maxx credit card company you guys need to get a new one
Amazing staff also my bestie works there plenty of items on the shelf, clean, organized the employees will help you with anything you need.
I should have known better. I ordered 2 pretty expensive night stands from TJMax. They arrived very damaged. I am shocked the delivery company would even allow them to be delivered. I ultimately sent them back. The worst is that I tried to do it again, hoping for a better outcome and unfortunately, the second set was even worse. I actually thought they tried to deliver the same ones at first, but no! It also takes forever for them to refund you. I am still waiting for one of the nights stands to be refunded (going on 3 weeks). I called customer service to see if I could have them delivered to the store so I can go look at them instead of missing work to wait for delivery and that wasn't an option. Well, I tried twice and not up for a third debacle.
I had an accident inside the store due to their negligence. I made the necessary report to the assistant manager and the company that works with them made me call a person who practically treated me as if I were to blame for what happened. They definitely didn't even send me to a doctor, they told me that I had to pay the doctor and the studies and they would see if they would take care of the expenses or not after the results! I can't believe this happened, be careful with these unserious companies that do NOT take care of their clients!
After shopping at TJ Maxx for decades and considering it one of my go-to shopping spots, I've been very disappointed in their customer service for a recent online purchase. While about 95% of my shopping with TJ Maxx has been in-store rather than online, I have made online purchases before and been happy with them—until now.
Recently, I ordered a pair of boots online, but they sent the wrong size—their mistake, not mine. After multiple online chats with customer service that got me nowhere, I called them, only to face the same frustration. They were willing to take the return, and through those calls, I learned that if I wrote "Do Not Charge Shipping—Wrong Item" on the package, I wouldn't be charged return shipping fees.
The problem? TJ Maxx only ships via FedEx, and returning the package this way was extremely inconvenient since I live in a rural area. I asked for a USPS return label, but that was not an option. Again, this was their mistake, not mine. Had I made the error, I would have easily moved on by now.
I ordered a size 8, and they sent a size 5. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who wears a size 5 narrow, so instead of letting the package sit there and frustrate me every time I see it, I'm throwing the boots away.
Thanks, TJ Maxx. Will I shop with them again? Maybe—but definitely not online. Very, very disappointing.
Bought a gold bracelet 4hundred and ninety nine dollars. Only wore it twice and it broke.
And customer service will do nothing for me. I'll never buy jewelry there again
Recently I ordered three things from TJ Maxx on line. One item I was told would not be received with no explanation. The second order was for a set of two lamps. It took me an hour to unpack the lamps. Another 30' to put them together. Guess what! One of the lamps didn't work. I returned the lamps to my local store in Ypsilanti, MI. I was told they couldn't take the lamps back because since one didn't work they couldn't put it on the floor. Wow! I didn't break the lamp so I would be punished for returning a defective item? The cashier called the manager who ok'd the return and off I went, somewhat satisfied.
The second item was 2 outside chairs described as dining chairs online but when they arrived they were very low, like beach chairs. These were heavy and I needed to get help to return them. In the store the cashier once again contacted the manager. This must have been a different manager. After quite a long wait the manager appeared and immediately began scolding me. Is that how she was trained to assist and upset customer? If so, something is drastically wrong with the training. After much nastiness on both sides the manager finally agreed to take back the chairs even though, according to her, they should have been sent back by Fedex. Despite the outcome I wanted, my interchange was so unpleasant that I will not again shop at TJ Maxx. There are many other stores who know how to treat customers and who hire managers that are kind and understanding.
I ordered a mid calf rouged boot. When I finally received the item 12 Days later, Mind you, it wasn't even the right item! When I went back to look into what happened, I noticed that they actually changed the description of the item to an ankle boot but kept the same picture in item number. Probably thinking I wouldn't notice! The boots they sent me was so ugly and not even what I wanted. I immediately went and returned them to a store. When I try to write an email to customer service to complain, I got an automated response about shipping which had nothing to do with the email. I finally called the next day because I also wanted my shipping and handling fee returned. The woman on the phone was really nice but I did explain how I really felt fooled and like I had been scammed. How can you change the description of an item on someone's confirmation email Mid-purchase? The item is still up on their website with the correct description so whoever else 's goes to order it is going to get surprised when they receive an item that's not even similar! Do not buy online!
Sam D was being very homophobic towards me and my friend when trying to purchase dresses whilst Ashley, Shaila, and Jamile were very helpful and helped us with our purchases i am very angry with Sam's service and she was also being extremely racist as two black lgbtq members walked in. This happen at the Tj maks in Waukesha Wisconsin inside of the shopping center place near sunset right next to hobby lobby.
Shalia and Ashley were amazing in helping us tryout clothes and dresses while Sam D was very against it and told us to leave and take those off and was very homophobic
They have lost a loyal customer who spent lots of money with them and they can care less. I returned an item via mail and their refund policy which is ridiculous in itself 10 to 14 business days to process did not even process. On the 15 day I called them and they refunded it back to my card but stated it would take another 5 to 10 days. Then the kicker they deducted 11.99 from my total for return shipping when smh it was free shipping to begin with. If they treat all their customers like this then I hope they go out of business!
I was shopping today at tj and there was a long line with only one cashier open. There were 2 girls sitting on the counter ignoring us in line. I went to checkout at the jewelry counter and was told I needed to purchase jewelry to check out there. Terrible service!
While going into the dressing room I was stopped by a woman, who stopped me to ask me "are you a boy or a girl?"
I was walking towards the bold letters that said "WOMENS" so clearly, if I was a male I wouldn't have gone in that direction. Absolutely rude, and disrespectful.
Was charged $23 late fee, they canceled it because wasn't late but left $2.00 interest fee. Now charging me $24 on the $2.oo interest fee I thought they took off. Canceled credit card. Scam!
I went into Marshalls today to purchase a few few things to get ready for my Jamaica trip. To my surprise my card was declined, called them, and they told me that it was because of too many authorized users. Really cause I am the only person under my roof lady customer service was rude. Not helpful to me at all. Consumer beware do not get this card. They suck
I made some purchases online from TJ Maxx in December 23. Soon after someone tried to make an unauthorized change on my debit card. I don't use it often so I wasn't sure where the breech was. My bank caught it and denied the charge. They issued me a brand new card. On Jan 7 24 I made another online purchase from tj Maxx.com with my new debit card. I didn't use it for anything else. A few days later I began receiving spam emails addressed to me by first and last name as I wrote it on my order form for TJMaxx. So I believed I found the breech. I contacted Customer Service to share my suspicions and to ask about the security of their website. The representative took my information and got my phone number and said she would pass it on to her supervisor and someone would contact me. I'm writing this because no one thought was important enough to respond to my concern. Please be careful when ordering online at t j maxx. I don't believe their website is secure. I will not be ordering from them again I haven't used my new debit card again. If there are any further problems it definitely was poor security at tjmaxx.com. Their lack of concern tells you the type of company they are. I will not order online from tj Maxx again.
It wasn't bad enough that I waited a couple of weeks for my order which was shipped in 3 different packages at 3 different times. Once I decided to use the beauty wand I noticed while reading the instructions to be sure to remove the clear wrap before charging. There was no clear wrap on my wand. After charging I tried to use the wand it wouldn't turn on right and once it turned on I couldn't turn it off. This item had been repackaged to look like new and sold to me as new. If you return the item by mail they will charge you $10.99 for repackaging. They are making a big profit off of this $24.99 wand. Selling defective, charging for return then selling again and charging for return. So I guess I will have to drive to the next city to return this defective item if I want my money back. There will be no more online orders from TJ Maxx or Marshalls because I have had nothing but problems from the both of them. It's not worth the stress of waiting weeks and then not receiving what you ordered.
This store has the worst customer service, my wife and I were told if we need to use the restroom we would have to go across the street No explanation was offering other than they were closed
On 1/2/24 while shopping at the TJ MAXX at 215 Clinton Plaza, store IN Clinton Conn I can upon an open box of Awake Coffee Pods. Upon my time to check the item out with the cashier I asked the cashier if I could get a discount for the "Open Box". The cashier took the item to a woman with short hair dark hair who was said to be the Manager. The woman who was also ringing-up customers as well, stuck her unclean hands into the box of coffee pods, counted them and stated "NO", THEY ARE ALL there. I told her how unprofessional her behavior is. As a manager to stick her unclean, unwashed dirty hands into a box of anything meant for human consumption for anyone other than herself. I didn't ask for a discount because of a missing item, I asked because the open box.
She was unapologetic, brass and believed it was her right do so and said such. I was so embarrassed because I knew she believes she was not wrong. SHAME ON TJMAXX for thinking she should manage anything

The employees at the jewelry customer counter on 12/26/23 at 6 PM at 2938 Eldridge Pkwy have no customer service skills, waited more than 45 minutes for someone to acknowledge that I needed help and I still didn't get help, the jewelry counter was not busy at all
I bought this professional manicure set from beurer and the quality is amazing, I got for such a good price at tj maxx, here you can find amazing things such as this. I am in love with this machine and can't wait to get my nails done with it, it comes with so many things recommended 10/10!
Answer: This site takes a lot longer to ship than normal sites. I do not know why they are slow. There's a chance they could also cancel your order because their inventory status is not usually up to date.
Answer: It's probably in the process of being cancelled. Tjmaxx online sucks
Answer: It seems they run true to size. I haven't had any difficulty but don't know about others.
