Weddingwire took down my legitimate complaint against a company i had been in negotiations with for a month. My negative review is because the company baited us with a contest discount and then pulled the rug out from under us and canceled our contract without notice. Weddingwire claims we are not their client so they removed our review. Consumers should be informed of what they may expect before they waste their time with a company that is dishonest and unprofessional.

Wedding wire took down my review of a vendor without consulting me about why I wrote it. The vendor reported it, which I feel was unfair. I received an email stating, I will be contacted within 2-3days to confirm my review, and I have yet to be contacted. I even reached out to the support line via email and haven't heard from them. If you're unable to follow up on reviews why did you all take my review down of that vendor to begin with? This is ridiculous

Hi. I want to report I was victim of this horrible company. I have registered as video production team and they signed me for 2400$ per year contract by up to 30 leads per month guaranteed. And during one month I only received 4 random messages with scam alert in my inbox. And no one responded to me. Seriously? I have disputed my transaction and they started to make unauthorized attempts to charge my othe card. Are you guys criminals? See you in the court!

We selected a vendor from wedding wire and tried to book that venue with the vendor but the vendor was unprofessional and unresponsive. I wrote a review about that vendor on wedding wire and wedding wire removed it saying that they only accept the review if you had a contract with the vendor. I have added the picture of the email they sent me where they have policies which support there vendors and dont care about the pathetic service their vendors provide before signing a contract and removing them without listening to the customers as how the service was before signing a contract with their vendors. The purpose of their website is to help couple in wedding preparations and if we had a problem with vendors in that process and point it out they dont accept that. They just support vendors on their platform as they get money from them and dont care about the customers. I would not recommend wedding wire cause if any thing wrong happens they support their vendors and not customers cause their revenue comes from the vendors.

Wedding Pro charges me $200/month to be on their platform as a vendor. I get about 4 leads per week. The leads are so low quality that many of them have no idea what service I provide. When I contact a lead they do not reply no matter how many times I reach out. The few that have replied most commonly tell me that they never needed my services in the first place and don't understand why I am reaching out to them. This is definitely a waste of money but more perhaps more frustrating is that it has been a waste of my time. Advertise on Google people, way better use of your resources. Wedding Pro is a complete joke

As a vendor it is a waste of money
July 11, 2023

We have been a vendor with Weddingwire/The Knot for almost a year now and it has been the biggest waste of money we have ever spent. They make you sign a year contract (because they know you would want to cancel after a few months if you could). They will say whatever it takes to get you to sign. We got a few inquiries here and there but they were so generic that some almost seemed fake. Either way we followed up but never got responses or any sales. We made a lot of sales on Facebook ads and Google ads and never one on this site.

Finding the person
July 6, 2023

Mr. Louis Jensen was kind enough to help us on this particular day we were not expecting to marry then and there but we decided to do so. We asked if he could and he did. He knew what do and guided us through. I was very happy and emotional. Loved that he said a special poem and then our wedding vows making it a beautiful moment for us. Thank you Mr. Louis for taking the time and taking us through that wonderful moment!

Fake leads
June 7, 2023

I had a very poor experience as well. I confirm what everyone else is saying too about WeddingWire / Knot being a scam and providing fake leads.

I would respond to leads than a day later they would be flagged as spam or I would get the exact same email from the person after I already responded.

I started the service in December of 2022 and have been submitting my complaints since March. They just kept offering me extra stuff for free for the bad experience.

I emailed them in may and tried canceling but they just setup an appointment with the sales agent who signed me up, and she said I could not get out of the one year contract.

I explained that I could no longer afford to pay for a service that wasn't producing a return on my investment as advertised when I signed up.

She stayed adamant, that I could not cancel and instead offered me a free badge to increase traffic to my site.

I told her I would give it one more month to see if that helped and would be calling back to request to cancel if I didn't see any improvement in lead quality.

A month passed and I was charged again which reminded me to request a cancelation which my sales rep again refused to accept my request for cancellation.

I had no choice but to cancel my card on file and dispute the charges and when I told her that this was the response I was given.

"You will go into collections as this is a 12 month contract you signed and agreed to.

You don't get to just cancel services because you're not satisfied, it goes for any contract.

If you're okay with this going to debt collections feel free."

I work in sales, and deal with contracts on a daily basis for the company I work for. They have always let a client cancel their contract if there not satisfied with our services.

We'll see what comes of it.

If you want to know how they'll respond to your complaints, look at the similarities between all the responses they give to the bad reviews here. It gets more obvious that they don't care.
Many of them ask for your business info, even if you're trying to protect your identity while posting bad reviews. Simply refer to bad reviews in your dealings with them and show them you know you're not alone, so they should work things out instead of digging their heels in with the violated contract they think they've complied with.

5/30/23 - And there it is. Read their response. Same as most replies they post: "Hi there... thank you for taking the time...We truly value all of our vendors... looking for ways to improve... we do require business information...Please send us a message or reach out to our Support Team..."

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We truly value all of our vendors and are always looking for ways to improve the experience of Wedding Professionals using our sites. In order to fully investigate the issue and make things right, we do require business information so that we can get in contact with the right vendor. If you would like to share any additional feedback with us, we would love to get in contact with you. Please send us a message or reach out to our Support Team at support@weddingpro.com. Thank you!

For a vendor seeking new or expanded business, WeddingPro (owners of WeddingWire.com & TheKnot.com) is a guaranteed investment loss. These sites exploit the ignorance of most wedding clients who know little or nothing about about planning an event. It sends them into an intimidating, confusing jungle of vendors, services and ideas (as confirmed to us by actual users), forcing them to shop in desperation and mistrust.
For decades, our clients' events have averaged 200-400 people, taking between 5 months to a year and a half to plan. By Wedding Pro's own admission, their average client has 100 guests or less, yet they take 15 - 24 months to plan. This is not stated anywhere, including the agreement, yet this means advertising to their average client is just about worthless to at least half the vendors.
WeddingWire and TheKnot give clients time and tools to shop themselves into confusion, learn to trust no one, play one vendor against another seeking price rather than overall value. Worst of all, this system foils personal contact which is essential for all wedding vendors. Only vendors who have used these sites as their main platform have gotten any results, minimal as it is from what I'm told by colleagues.
Each site (WW & TK) is arguably an organized platform for giving each vendor a page to post promotional copy, photos, videos, price ranges, website, social media, and contact info, all similarly presented, despite the vast differences between how each vendor runs their business.
The email inquiry system provides a generic, pre-worded message requesting "...information about your services and packages!" which they've already been given in great detail, thanks to the display pages we've all paid for and worked so hard to configure & populate. Most vendors don't even prefer offering "packages." They simply customize to each event.
All client inquiries are mass-mailable to dozens of vendors at a time with a click or two, pre-worded with useless messages, containing no request for any direct contact that can move everything forward. As useless as saying "hi" and nothing else.
The inquiries we receive are never aimed directly at us, provide no specific information about the event (often false locations), and even a phone call within 24 hours is received as telemarketing, they have no idea why we're calling. None of them claim to have seen our pages, so they often wonder themselves why they sent the inquiry and politely inform us they're not ready or they're already taken care of.
After all the material, info we submit and all the page configuration we do, clients rarely see it, know nothing about the vendors they contact and provide no useful info to us, making pricing impossible.
We suggested many times to the publisher that vendors should at least be allowed to compose the pre-wording for the inquiries. A semi-complete message would force users to fill things in: "Please contact Dave at (phone number) at (date and time range) so we can discuss..." etc. If it arrives unfilled, we know it's fake.
WeddingPro, however, insists they will not change the inquiry system.
Successful vendors on these sites use them as a vehicle alongside their competition, but never as a reliable source for customers. In fact, customers have inquired to us just to receive quotes they could use for re-negotiation with vendors they've already chosen. We know this because many turned out to be competing friends of ours. They were never interested, used our guidance and pricing to simply throw it at our competitor. WW & TK make this easy and normal. These sites also tell us to solicit our clients to directly post separate and differently-worded reviews for each site, allowing the publisher to measure online response (SEO). Good for them, bad for us. No vendor wants to give multiple "homework" assignments to their valuable clients after they've paid you thousands to make their lives easier. Good luck asking them again to post another review on Google or your social media pages. Clients should be able to hand one review to the vendor, so he can post it anywhere he wants. Validity can be confirmed by the client later by clicking an email. WeddingPro said they'd consider consolidating their reviews to serve both sites, but that's not happening.

I had a terrible experience with The Knot and Wedding Wire. I signed up for their services hoping to find real leads for my busines, but all I got were scammers and bots sending me robotic messages. It was incredibly frustrating to spend time and money on a platform that didn't deliver on its promises.

The worst part was that even when I did get a message from a real person, they would ghost me after the first or second message. It felt like a complete waste of time and energy. I expected more from a platform that claims to help with wedding vendors.
No customer service for paying vendors.
Overall, I would not recommend The Knot or Wedding Wire to anyone looking for promoting their business and genuine leads for their wedding services. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this scam.

I was scammed by a vendor on WeddingWire, BlumPrint Floral. I even have a court judgment against them. When I reported this to WeddingWire, they simply replied that they're not responsible for the vendors on their site (basically they get paid to advertise for vendors and they don't do any due diligence or care if the vendors are legit or not). When I published a review trying to warn other brides about this company that literally steals people's deposits and then disappears, the "vendor" disputed my review so it's now hidden. I'll also note that vendor reviews are automatically organized from highest to lowest, so you really have to work to get a balanced perspective! All WeddingWire cares about is their advertising money. They don't care if the vendors are legit businesses or not. Brides, do not trust this company when making decisions for your wedding! And at the very least take the time to do your own independent research.

I left a review for a day of coordinator who provided absolute terrible experience. She did not show up for the walk-through, and then decided to put someone else in her place the day before our wedding. She referred to this new person as her lead coordinator, however, the day of the wedding, I found out that they didn't even know each other. We hired her to do things that were not executed, and even cost us fines after the wedding. We left a review of this on WeddingWire with proof and screenshots of things that had transpired, and then WeddingWire refused to post our review.

WeddingPro is a company that I signed on 10/12/2022 after their salesperson told me it would result in millions of customers and foot traffic to my site "more than anywhere else on the internet". I saw other wedding vendors I knew were on the website, and when I asked the salesperson, she said that in order to be on the website you have to pay monthly. I trusted the sales employee and believed her so I signed up for the service, seeing friends I knew on there must be paying as well. Upon 4 months with zero views (aside from my friends and family whom I asked to leave reviews on the site) and zero sales, I realized that they had been misleading me. After talking to several friends *after* (my MISTAKE) they told me they do NOT pay to be on this website, that they were just on it UNPAID. Of the "millions of visitors" they promised me, in the entirety of my payments, I have received only 48 storefront views, and 40 of those were my friends and family whom I asked to visit the site to make reviews for me (the names are there to prove it on their website and a past email I have written to my friends urging them to go onto my site). The website and "services" are a scam and services have certainly NOT been rendered. I called to ask to terminate their services on January 1st 2023. I did not ask to be reimbursed thus far, but I did ask to cancel the rest of my contract. Libby Farmer said they said they will not let me cancel and was greatly unhelpful, like a robot that has zero empathy for someone, but she did admit that the services aren't working well for jewelers OR AT ALL. I am one of the only hair comb brands on there and I know my product is stellar after 10 years in business. I tried to talk more to plead with them to end this sad way of taking advantage of a small tiny business. They have threatened to take me to a collections agency and I receive a daily email with them telling me to pay them.

They will omit negative reviews from their site. Very strange experience-- they asked for a ton of backup on a review I wrote on a vendor, which I was happy to provide. Then they still made me remove the negative portion of my review, even though I just proofed it was honest and legitimate.

If you need to advertise on wedding wire to get wedding business. Then you have a bad business model. These guys are the worst they don't call you back. There really is no customer support team. I have complained about reviews on my website that are 6 years old and they're not even from my flower shop. Plus if you want to cancel your contract at the end of the year they give you a hard time and there's only a certain Window when they accept cancelations. I told them I wanted to cancel at the end of my term and they said they won't accept it unless I respond to them during this certain window before expiratio

I have had Wedding Wire and the Knot contact me time after time promising to bring me tons of leads, and I've tried it a couple of times only to be locked into a year long contract of my small business trying to book weddings and Wedding Wire and/or the Knot pulling $700+ per month out of my account. We closed for 6 months due to a big improvement, and because we did not book during that time, I had a lot of Fall availability last year, so when the Knot called and I told them I would not go into a year long contract, the rep promised that weddings had blown up and everyone was booked and she could fill my openings within a few weeks…so I fell for it again only to get absolutely no leads!

When I told my rep I wanted to cancel, she said I couldn't and that they don't guarantee anything other than visibility, and the. I received a few fake leads from people who never answered.

I cancelled my card to stop the payments and told them I was done, and they are continually harassing me and threatening me with "late" fees etc. They tried to tell me they were responsible for 10 of my booked weddings in 2023, and I asked them where they were since I only had 3 booked, and none had to do with wedding wire.
Don't believe anything they tell you! Don't do it!
