Just read the other reviews. This is crap. IF there was ANY other real choice I would dump Cox in a second. I am paying for a GIG connections and am getting 30 mgb. I spent an hour arguing with chat to get a phone number so I could talk to a person. Then when I asked for compensation they transferred me to a dead line. Yep this is worth the 110 a month. There is no proactive maintenance on their infrastructure. The online tech said the in home amp needed to be disconnected... I dont have an in home amp. So now here I get to sit for the rest of Saturday and hope a Tech can help and if not today I have to be home tomorrow so they can maybe show up. Find a different service provider.
Brainless and useless provider with all their customer agents and support useless... brainless and useless provider with all their customer agents and support useless...
The only way Cox will take you seriously is if you call the better business bureau on them, they still won't fix your problem because they're terrible, but it does make them look bad.
This is the worst customer service I ever received. When I first had cox install internet in my home they pushed out out an entire week but then on the date of my service installation I waited for up to 4 hours and nobody showed up. To make things worse, when I called I couldn't get a hold of anybody. Now I am having trouble transferring my service to my ew address. When I first called I specifically told the rep on the phone that I needed service to stay on at my old address for a week and turn it on at my new address sooner. He said I would just have to move the modem box to my new location and it would automatically be transferred. That was a lie and all they did was turn it off at my old address too soon leaving me without internet service. When I reached out to them via their online chat their only solution to my issue was to upsell me. If that wasn't bad enough, the next day when I got it turned back on at my old address, I told them to move the transfer date to a later date which they never did.And now that I finally got the transfer completed my internet is still not working and they are refusing to adequately compensate me.
Cox Communications is a direct portal to Hell and once they have their hooks in you…believe you cannot extricate yourself from their greedy claws. I have been a customer for decades, bundled with TV, phone & internet service spending literally thousands of dollars annually. Over these decades, every time we experienced a "problem" with their service…they send some technician over to replace cable. Look at the photos, my house has 50 miles of coaxial hanging off it…literally! The workmanship and shortcuts taken are abysmal. So last year when I was planning to replace my roof and fascia, they sent a guy out who said we could rip out all the cable hanging off the house (and inside cable too) and run a single short line into the house and run everything off WIFI…no charge. It would take an hour or two at most. However, it rained constantly that Fall season and our project had to be postponed. So I contact them today to schedule this and now they tell me the want $100.00 for the work. Now maybe I'm just in a mood or maybe Cox has become ridiculously greedy but this bovine excrement FEE just infuriated me to my core and compelled me to choose to remove Cox from my life. Their service has been problematic all along anyway, regular outages and shutting off service cuz we missed a payment date by a week. See what should be their logo in the attached pics. Cox Communications sets the Customer Care bar so low…you need a backhoe to find it. So I am now cutting the cord, ripping all their cable (that hangs like thick spaghetti) off my home and getting a competitors service and television apps (which I use more & more anyway (cuz there's nothing good on Cox TV ever) and the savings will more than pay for the change. If you don't have sufficient grief in your life…Cox is there to provide it. If you wish to remove grief, cut the Cox cord like me. They do not deserve any customer loyalty. They do not care about being loyal to those stupid enough to stick with them despite their miserable service, dumb policies, poor workmanship, outages and added fees. Cox sucks. If they sucked any harder, they would create a black hole and drag all of humanity into oblivion.
If you like to look at blank screen 6-9 or more time every day,. Cox is for you. It will go blank in middle of your favorite show. Today (Sunday, 8-24) blackeh out tennis finals and NASCAR. One at the finish and other at start. Am 75 yr old and stuck at home with blank TV and walls 😖🤷
I'm not actually a Cox customer - Thank God! In the last three months, I've been receiving my sister's, my parents', and the gentleman who bought my last home five years ago, bills to my email account. At the bottom of the bill, it states, 'If you received this email in error, please contact Cox at *******993.' I did just that, spending 15 minutes with two lovely and very customer-oriented individuals who told me there's nothing that can be done. They went on to tell me the listed account holder would have to have provided my email address for me to receive their bill and only they can remove it. Interestingly enough, those individuals haven't been receiving their monthly bill. Way to go, Cox. I see nothing has changed since I chose a new provider five years ago.
Absolute garbage.
I moved out of my last apartment on May 30, but then got billed for June and July. My accounts been closed, but my card got auto-billed regardless, and I've now called about 5 times (separate days, each call a long obnoxious experience of being passed like a hot potato to various departments, having to re-explain my issue to each new person)… several official requests for refunds of my stolen money submitted… all subsequently denied by management with no satisfactory explanation, prompting a new call.
Cox literally just billed me for months I was no longer living there, the internet box UNPLUGGED… stole my money and refuses to refund me. Insult to injury, I get an exhausting frustrating runaround every time I try to address it.
I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
I purchased a business in February of 2023 and selected Cox Communications as my phone and internet provider. The internet worked fine, but the phone lines were never operational. I had several support calls and they refused to send a technician to get the phones operational. So, after 4 days of internet use, I had to hire a new phone and ISP provider. Upon the initial cancellation attempt, a surly gentleman, notified me that I was under a year long contract. I obviously took issue with that stance as Cox was never able to provide operational phone lines, which is an absolute killer on a business. They refused to cancel, so for a year I paid monthly charges for services they were not providing. In early February 2024 a Cox technician named Larry was working on a neighboring business' connection and disconnected my wire. I called Cox immediately to get Larry back out to correct the issue. The phone call into support was impossibly frustrating, he kept telling me that Cox is not responsible for their own actions.A technician finally showed up 5 days later after 3 cancellations. It took him roughly 30 to screw my wire back in and I was finally back up and processing credit cards. They essentially cost me well over 5k that weekend cutting off credit card payments. Now, I have tried to cancel again, and their company line is that in order to protect me they auto enrolled me in another year long contract. There are multiple notes in their system that I was going to cancel after my year is up in order to prevent any more chicanery, but alas they did so anyway. They gave me the option for an "early-payoff" which would cost over $1400. I have contacted the BBB, but with a 1-star rating, Cox obviously doesn't care about their reputation. Please stay away from this company, they operate without ethics and will find a multitude of ways to extort your hard-earned wages.
I hate Cox Cable! If there was a minus rating they would get thousands of them.
It's funny I just did a google search for "I hate cox cable! " Guess what! My internet starts going in and again! All most like they have bots searching for negative comments about them so they could mess with the connection to make me go away!
Here is yet another issue with paying my bill less than a year after the last big issue. I called in to talk about my bill as it continues to grow without notice, at least none I'm aware of. So I was sent to the retention loyalty group and spoke to Lucy. She offered me a promotional rate which gave me a healthy discount and retained my current services. She told me how much to pay which I did and all was good until the next bill. The following bill had a past due amount of the discount. I called the normal representative and he could find no record of my account with Lucy. He switched me to retention. They found it and after a long talk and being told there was no supervisor on duty that she would credit the disputed amount but would have to send me to collections for it to happen. Fine, but now collections tells me they can't do that and transfers me to the regular operator who says its impossible to credit there and sends me back to retention where now that person says I was too late when I called in to have this deal done even though Lucy made the deal binding by reading me terms and conditions and my rights. So Cox makes a binding mistake and instead of honoring the mistake if in fact it was a mistake, retro charges me. Mind you over an hour later and circling through their incompetent employees and promises. No responsibility on their part just pay up. I did pay for service reasons but am open to another company after 20 years because the company has grown too big to care about their customers! To be fair after my complaints to the BBB on the original issue last year a rep called me and solved the problem and that was great but why did my issue have to go nationwide before Cox gave a hoot?
Trying to pay my bill just like the last 20 years but their billing agent typed my account number in wrong after she made several attempts. Of course it bounced because it wasn't my account number. Other agents have admitted it but Cox will not contact me or communicate and have blocked all my bank accounts for the last 6 weeks and are trying to charge me for their mistake. This borders on or is actually criminal. The ones in charge are nameless faceless people that even phone and store agents can't call. I guess they are asking for a lawsuit or for their regulators to get involved. Stupidity at its finest!
We only have cox internet and pay nearly $100.00 a month and stream our tv. The Internet just locks up and stops several times within a show. This happens daily. I believe that cox throttles the speed up and down. We don't have the fastest speed but according to other reviews, those that do have it experience the exact same thing. I'm looking for a comparable internet service and will try others if available. Soooooo disappointed with this internet service. I would not recommend it. Get something else if it's available.
For fiber Internet, cox is the most expensive and you will NEVER get the advertised speeds. You will never feel good about your purchase/service with cox. If you have any other options for fiber go with anything other than Cox. Quantum Fiber is half the price of cox. If housing interest rates weren't so high I would move to an area that had any other options for fiber. I loathe paying cox every month. Horrible, horrible, horrible...you will never feel good about the money you spend with cox, but you will feel completely taken advantage of. Choose any other company if you can, but they do everything in their power to block other companies.
So they are trying to scam me into paying $20 month extra to upgrade my modem and how interesting they shut my current modem off two days before my contract expires so they can wheedle me into an upgrade. So I'm snowed in, no internet service. Nothing. This company is one big scam.
Misleading and rude customers service!
They even said, you keep calling them!ofcourse because you are a customer service for God sake and customers have issues that's why they keep calling!dumb $#*!!
I sign up for a $40 dollar a month internet plan and end up getting charged $65 dollars a month. When I call on multiple occasions to figure out why, they create some bogus story about how there are additional charges and "i'm actually getting a discount" when in reality, they are just deceiving customers and tacking on fees and modem charges that are complete BS. If it was more financially advantageous to get a lawyer rather than pay the extra 25 bucks, I would. I may still do it because I really enjoy spite and a law suit would be pretty magical for me. I really hope every COX building ends up being engulfed in flames and all of their rude and irritating customer service employees that I spoke with end up in Europe during the bubonic plague. $#*! you guys.
Tried to order some service from these crooks yesterday. Signed up for the 55 dollar a month plan. So I go online to look at my bill and its 140. Plus another 50 for a modem they sent that i did not ask for nor need. Looking further at the bill, it included all kinds of things I did not ask for or authorize. Will be filing a complaint to the FCC.
Beware! Please do not subscribe to cox mobile gig. The customer service is really bad and you will get charged even if you did not activate and use the device. On top it the store is very mean and are not helpful especially the one in Promonad in scottsdale. They are rude and will not help you with anything. Online support just hangs up on you if they do not want to help you or cannot help you. They do not have the guts to tell you that they cannot help you.
First off, I would like to tell any COX customers, if you are having frequent outages contact a COX service rep and have them reimburse you for the inconvenience! They will definitely reimburse you if you kindly talk to them about the frequency of these events. Secondly, the issue that I have with COX is that their service goes down quite often with the rationale of "improving "as often as the services go down, Cox should be the best not just in the country, but in the world! Too much money for my service to not be superb! It's ridiculous, how often technicians are working in the field for better performance. I don't buy it for a second and again if you are a Cox customer hit them in the pockets complain and have them review your account so you can get a reimbursement for the many outages that Cox service provides! I hope this helps everyone that is being ripped off by COX!
Answer: Count me in too! Cox needs a lesson in customer service.
