Took me discovery of my continued charges that were unknown or acceptable charges during a check account audit They refused to refund my money as if they saw nothing wrong with taking for services never provided or accurate I am now left with no choice but to share with fcc as the have not responded to my request of names or departments to contact for further litigation
I used the services of Intelius to check a phone number and was happy with the result. Until I got charged an extra $35 from them. They never responded regarding a refund so I issued a chargeback, which was ultimately denied. All attempts to contact their team will get you a scripted response and they will flat out refuse to respond with an actual person unless you do what I did and bug them relentlessly for a whole month. I still haven't gotten my money back from these crooks and they disabled my account so I couldn't even use the service I 'paid' for.

We have been getting charged for over 9 months by intelius for charges they cannot even locate. I have called them every month for the past 9 months and each time they tell me they will escalate the matter and it never gets solved, i do not have an account with them and they couldn't even locate my account, they owe me around 300$ but they keep telling me they don't see where I'm getting these charges from even though i sent statements and gave them my card number to look for the charges THEY made to my card. I ended up having to turn my card off and order a new one since the mater was never resolved, very inconvenient and very unprofessional, i am convinced this website is a scam and somehow stole my card info! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOULL NEVER GET IT BACK! If i could give a -5 star review I would!

You want a review from me after charging me $27. A month for the past year for merely INQUIRING about one person for 20 minutes! I cancelled immediately and my checking acct. Is overdrawn because of these automated charges! I have stage IV cancer and 28 other serious illnesses. Please CREDIT my checking acct. For ALL of these charges for the past year. I cant afford the basics of eggs, milk, butter and bread because of these charges. HELP

Difficult to find info without having to always having to sign up for membership. Difficult to get membership cancelled and stopping payments from being taken out of credit card. If you just want to see owner name of phone number to check if spam, this should be a free charge. Date of experience is date I entered review.

It could not find the phone numbers I was after, to stop the scammers from ruining me financially and that was the only reason I used the service, so scale of 1-10 I wouldn't give it the privilege of a 1 I want to give it a 0 but it didn't have that.But it was some what easy to cancel my subscription.
And I don't remember the exact date to answer the question of date of experience.

I spent roughly $35 unlocking everything just to see how accurate it is. I'm here to tell you it's not accurate whatsoever. I first off ran a check on myself, didn't have my correct address nor my phone number (my phone number was listed to multiple other people along with the additional lines in my service) which I've had for well over a year. Improper relatives as well as associates (I didn't know half the people). Didn't display any special licenses I hold either no properties I own or have owned for years.
I ran searches on multiple other people I know as well and their info was wrong as well, especially when it came to the court records. Social media was outdated as well. Definitely will not be renewing this subscription..

Fought tooth and nail to keep your refund The second much higher charge for a service that I didn't use, going to their customer service, PayPal, my bank, and these fellas took the money and run. Make sure not to use this service at all, but if you do, make sure you cancel the """subscription""" after you use the $1 search, otherwise you're not going to have a fun time getting your refund. All in all, didn't help with my dispute, fought my bank and PayPal mercilessly to keep the money and left me with the bill!

So many people getting conned with their "" scrupulous"" billing agreement. Youd figure if so many people report issues on getting billed and not seeing the "" scrupulous"" fineprint. 12 days in and no resolution for refund. They contested my paypal refund. Careful with this headache of a company

After I paid my account got locked and I was not able to access the website. Tried to reset the password and it does not work. I have not been able to log in again since I paid.
Intelius customer service is apparently only available by phone but i was not able to reach them on Friday afternoon...they are closed all weekend and apparently need to wait until Monday

I just wanted to look up a phone number, like old-school White Pages. Intelius was silly -- pretended to be taking several minutes to gather info, which probably took only 1-2 seconds to retrieve, then asking for money for the "comprehensive report." Just silly.

I'm trying to use the online peopleconnect process to remove my data, but something about it is broken and it doesn't work. Strike one against them. Okay, so then I email them, and they take three days to respond. Strike two. And when they finally respond, they give me the runaround and waste my time acting like they can't find the totally obvious records with my data. I'm the only one in the entire world with my name and I send them a link that points them straight to my data. Strike three.
Stay away from this shady, privacy-invading, incompetent company. Don't ever buy a report from them. And if you need to remove your data, don't give up, and don't let them get away with this.

I was angry because I was charged a fee without consent also this felt like catfishing because it kept wanting more money, so deceiving. I canceled after an hour and it was surprisingly extremely easy. I called and it was canceled. The next day I received call from a kind person who wanted to discuss my review so I told him about my experience and was shocked when he not only refunded the 3.99 Not approved by me but the whole fee 29.00. Wow! That is honest. So I do recommend this service wholeheartedly. I do wish There were more information available for me though but I didn't keep paying more fees as it went deeper. I didn't lose any money so I am very grateful.
